TWU prerequisites

TWU allows students to apply for their MOT program before completing all of the prerequisites, as long as you map out a plan to complete them before the program begins. I'm curious to hear from those who have been accepted into the program, how many and which prerequisites did you complete before applying? Also, if you don't mind sharing, how many observation hours did you have before applying? Thanks!

I was accepted to the Houston program and was still finishing up my last prerequisites during the fall semester of the application deadline. I think it would hurt you if you're planning to finish prerequisites during the spring or summer after interviews as you will be competing against many applicants who will either have completed all of the required courses or will be finishing them up by interview time.

As for observation hours, I turned in close to 600....way overkill, but I needed to stack the deck in my favor as much as I could since I'm older and making a career change.

I was accepted to TWU Dallas campus and I am just now finishing neuro and developmental psych. Although you can tae neuro during your first semester, I would DEFINITELY recommend taking it at the TWU Denton campus prior to starting because the professor is EXCELLENT and it is a hard class that takes a lot of outside time. I also heard if you take it at the Dallas campus, the professor is not a neuro teacher and just tells you to highlight stuff out of the book and study that way.

I ended up turning in about 250 hours. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

I was accepted to the Houston campus. The only pre req pending is Neuro and i completed 220 hrs of observation.

I had everything, but neuro. I'm taking it this summer. I didn't have half as many observation hours as everyone else posted.
