TWU regular decision 2012-13

Has anyone heard back from TWU about regular decisions yet? The stress of not knowing is killing me. I know that last year they ended up notifying people before the December 15th deadline and I'm pretty nervous. I didn't have a lot of observation hours when I applied, 76 hours (36 in an outpatient vestibular treatment clinic) and 40 in a sub/acute rehab hospital. I have a pretty solid GPA though 3.76 and I managed to get three strong LOR. One is even from a TWU alumni.

I'd suggest contacting Mary Beth to ask when you can expect to hear back. I applied there for early decision, and she was really responsive to my emails throughout the process. If you have more observation hours now, you might also try sending them an updated resume with your current hours, since the deadline has not yet passed.

I applied early decision but just missed the list of criteria. The letter I got in the mail said that regular decision applicants that are accepted would be contacted around December 20th. Hope that helps!

I think that December 15 was listed as the target date to notify accepted applicants. I applied to TWU and still have not heard anything if that makes you feel better : )

I got a letter from them a while back saying I didn't meet the criteria for early admissions so I would be in regular pile.

Since then I haven't heard anything from them.. so I am assuming it's a no but I have accepted to go to UTSW anyway wahoo!! 🙂

Agarci27,

Did you state a preferred campus in your letter? I stated that I was only able to attend the Dallas campus, perhaps if you did not have a preference they would not state it in the letter they sent. Seems like you may have a better chance of being called up if you are still available for both! Congratulations!

Yes, I told them Houston was my preference and I remember selecting it on the paper application. Well Ill prob end up emailing them but at least Im still in the game! I just hate waiting

Also, I found out that these were the average stats of accepted students at TWU this cycle:

How'd you get the information (just curious)?

I emailed Mary Beth recently with a question, and got an automatic "out of office" reply. The auto reply email contained the average stats of accepted applicants for this cycle.

Anyone else attending the Forum this weekend in Dallas for accepted students? I'm coming in from out of state and am excited to visit!

I don't know the criteria that they used, but I got in through early decision: Overall GPA 3.67, Prereq GPA 3.77 for TWU, GRE 161V 158Q 5.5AW

last 60 hours gpa of 3.5 or higher,
verbal gre of 500 (153 new) or higher
quantitative 500 (144 new) or higher OR a combined 1000 V/Q combined.
written gre 4.0 or higher
at least 1 "accept without reservation" recommendation from a PT
no more than 3 course prerequisites missing at the time of application

I'm not sure, but you can email the PT program with your questions. They are really good about responding.

I'm also considering applying next cycle too but i'll have 4 outstanding classes when applying. (Bio I&II, Physics I&II).

Does this make a big impact when applying to TWU? Anyone get accepted with this many pre-reqs outstanding?

Well, I know you need three or less outstanding pre-requisites (on top of all the other met requirements) for early decision. I can't say I know about regular admissions. Contact Mary Beth Daugherty, she can definitely help you out with this question! 🙂
