VAMPIRE LAW - finalized by the Volturi 9/6/26
These rules must be followed. We will not hesitate to punish rule-breaking when necessary, including through forced substitution, modkill, or restriction from participating in future games that we run.
1. This is a GAME. Have fun.
The most important rule is that this is a GAME and is intended to be FUN.
Everyone is here to lie, accuse one another of murder, pretend they can read minds, and generally make questionable decisions in the name of their win condition. Please operate under the assumption that other players are trying to play the game, not trying to personally attack you. Werewolf can get heated. You may be accused of being a bloodsucking monster when you are, in fact, a perfectly innocent human. You may be betrayed by someone you trusted. You may be yeeted despite being completely innocent. That is the game. There will be no tolerance for personal attacks, hostility, excessive appeals to emotion (ATE), or harassment of other players. Eg. "x is an a**," "y is bad at this game," "you can't yeet me because i'm having a bad day," "I'm so done, I don't want to play anymore because of you."
If things become heated, take a break. The thread will likely move on from the topic with time. If the mods need to intervene, consider that your one and only warning. We reserve the right to force-sub or modkill a player, with or without additional warning, if we feel that hostility, ATE, or personal attacks are damaging game integrity or thread health. Keep the thread a place where people feel comfortable posting.
2. No Outside Communication
Do not discuss the game outside of the game thread and your role PM unless your role PM or the mods specifically authorize you to do so. You should also avoid discussing game strategy with people in real life. If your role gives you an official private communication channel, that channel will be set up by the mods and is permitted only as described by your role PM.
3. Voting
Votes must be placed in bold or using ####numerous octothorpes#### and must include the terms "vote" or "yeet."
For example:
Yeet Edward
####Vote: Edward####
If you have already placed a vote, you must UNVOTE before placing a new vote.
Sleep votes or no votes will be allowed.
Please tag the mods when voting so that we can find and record votes more easily.
4. Activity
Please play the game you signed up to play. There are no strict minimum posting requirements for this game, but you will be nudged by the mods if we feel you are disappearing into the misty Forks forest.
Life happens! If you become unexpectedly busy, tell the mods and send in contingency night actions when appropriate.
A lack of participation can make the game significantly less fun and less playable for everyone else. But as there is no post minimum, do not make posts to pressure players to post more. Tagging people to ask their thoughts is fine. Just remember that people have school/jobs/life that takes priority.
5. Substitutions
Subs are available for extenuating circumstances and, when necessary, for participation issues.
If you need a substitute, contact the mods directly.
Do not announce your need for a substitute in the game thread.
6. Dead Players
Once you are dead, you may no longer strategize in the thread.
If you choose to post after death, your posts must be limited to fun commentary, cheering for your team, dramatic reactions, or other non-strategic content and should be placed in asterisks:
Bad:
"OH MY GOD EDWARD WAS A VAMPIRE?!"
Good:
**************
"Good game everyone!"
***************
Please keep post-death commentary limited. Reacting to posts after death is okay, but please only react to posts that do not have to do with game content/mechanics. Even an innocent-looking reaction can potentially influence the living players.
7. No PM Quoting or Screenshots (throwback to noob game Katie not reading this rule)
Directly quoting, copying, or screenshotting role PMs or conversations with the mods is prohibited.
This includes: Role PMs, night results, mod messages, private game communications, or screenshots of any of the latter. You may paraphrase information from any of these if you desire, but you may not reproduce it verbatim.
8. Editing Posts
You may edit your posts, but you may not delete posts. If posts are edited please indicate so and why.
Eg. *edited for grammar
Yeet votes may not be edited, unless adding a mod tag.
If you make a voting mistake, unvote and cast a new vote instead.
9. Night Results
Do not discuss or share your night results before the official writeup has been posted.
The thread may be locked during this period to prevent accidental or intentional violations.
Once the new writeup has been posted, you are free to discuss your results and incorporate them into your strategy.
You may continue strategizing between the end of the yeet cycle and the posting of the writeup unless the thread has been locked.
10. Events
There may be special events throughout the game. These events may or may not help you.
Participation in events may carry rewards, information, or absolutely nothing useful.
There is no pressure to participate in bonus events.
11. Role PM Acknowledgment
Please acknowledge receipt of your role by reacting to the first post in your role PM.
This lets the mods know that you have received, seen, and understand your role.
12. Canon Is Not Law
Finally, because this is Twilight: Do not assume the books/movies will tell you how this game works.
Vampires may have abilities that aren't canon. Werewolves may have abilities that aren't canon. Humans may have abilities that are definitely not canon. A character's canonical personality, relationships, powers, or fate do not necessarily apply to this game. If your role PM says you can do something, you can do it. If it doesn't say you can do something, you can't. The mods' role PMs and rulings are the final authority on game mechanics.
Now go forth into the rainy darkness of Forks.
Trust no one.
And whatever you do...
don't go into the woods alone. 🩸🐺
