Hey SDN, first time poster here. Any feedback at all is greatly appreciated!
3.99 cGPA, 4.0 sGPA
MCAT: 515 (130/127/130/128)
TX resident
ORM
Clinical: Pretty standard hospital volunteering (100 hrs)
Research: summer research program (400 hrs, poster presented), wet lab research (2500 hrs, 2nd author pub and poster presented), clinical research (200 hrs, coauthor on 2 abstracts submitted to national conference, expecting minimum of 1 coauthor pub in next several months)
Shadowing: none, will be starting this summer
Non-clinical: assorted community service done through school orgs (180 hrs)
Awards: small research award, deans list
Other ECs: TA for biology class (60 hrs), on-campus SI leader (300 hrs), peer mentor (70 hrs), member of cultural club (60 hrs)
Gap year activities: summer program for inner city kids (15 hrs from last year, will continue for ~50 hrs more this summer), continue wet lab research, continue hospital volunteering, begin shadowing, finish degree and senior thesis in the fall
I definitely think I'm weak on the clinical experience/volunteering side of things, but I'll be accruing a LOT more hours over these next few months.
