Philosophy: Cliffnotes is one of the fundamental materials pre-dental students use to study the bio section. However, more and more students are realizing that cliffnotes are becoming less useful because the bio section is becoming more difficult (material is becoming more random). Therefore, I sought to create a much more comprehensive version of cliffnotes so pre-dental students can use it as the fundamental reference materials. So what is new?

Revision and addition of content: I went through existing sections and cleared up concepts that I thought were fuzzy and grammatical errors. I have completely redone the diversity of life unit and the evolution and ecology unit. In the other sections, some new chapters were added while some content were added to existing sections.

Study tools to utilize my bio notes: Almost every student who has scored high on the bio section (myself included) have suggested that students make their own notes in order to learn the bio section. To supplement with my bio notes, I have created terms and concept sheets for each unit. Within each sheet, I included every term and concept from each unit. This will allow you to create your own notes from my notes! You can download them and fill in these terms in concepts (will be down loadable as docs) to the depth of your choice. Even better, if you think some terms/concepts aren't important to your studies you can delete them and only define the terms/concepts you think are important.

Future directions of my bio notes—crowd sourcing for even better bio notes: My bio notes will never be 100% complete. There will be bio questions on the DAT that are not in my notes. There are still typos and grammatical errors. Some people may think some of my explanations are not clear. Therefore, I have created an update request system to my notes. Next to the download link to my notes, there will be a link to an update request form (its a Google spreadsheet) where you can request me to add sections, clear up existing sections, or fix typos and errors ANONYMOUSLY. I will then go in and add them to my notes so long as the requests are reasonable. The date of last update will be right next to the download link for my bio notes so you know if you have the most up to date version or not.

Where can everything be downloaded? All of the materials are being uploaded on the download server (will take 1-2 days). So tomorrow or Sunday, you can google "tyjacobs bio notes" and click on the first link for the page where all the download mirrors are.

This is great, thank you for taking the time to do this man. Also, did you by any chance go to the u of m's dental school open house earlier this month?

Hey @tyjacobs, when you say you uploaded them to the server, where exactly do you mean? I checked out DAT Genius and it only had the original bio notes. Not the 2.0 version

Thank you kindly! Very helpful!

  • "▪ ADH is produced in the posterior pituitary gland. "
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Posterior pituitary gland only store and release ADH. It does not produce it?

btw you have made incredible notes! I am using your notes, feralis and destroyer to make my own. Thank you so much!

How far are you into finishing your notes?

Jw because that seems like A LOT of work... Feralis and destroyer together is overwhelming IMO and you are adding another one... Nice

The hypothalmus makes it and ADH and oxytocin are released by the PPG via axons. So your right .
