Dead silence from most programs.

Calls from some.

Typed notes from others.

Hand written ones from some others.

What to make of all this?

Confuzzled. 😱

It's a BIG GAME. Different ppl have different strategies. Try not to let it influence you too much. Tho easier said than done. I got NO feedback from RIC and LOTS of feedback from other "top" programs. It's only human nature to like being wanted... especially after all the abuse of med school. Just go with your gut instinct.

I agree completely. It does not hurt a program to show tremendous interest in you...they can be genuine or blowing smoke up your butt. Rank them based on your opinion, despite what little or lot of feedback you get. Just like the man said...easier said than done. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I have not received any communication from programs except for a generic thank you/follow-up letter from one or two. It kind of worries me that I have not really gotten much feedback nor did I ever get much during the majority of my interviews. Can that possibly be a result of the type of programs I interviewed at?

At any rate, I hope someone will like me in the end...

I'm sure you'll do fine. Though more competitive this year this is not derm or even ENT or rads. A classmate of mine who is brilliant only got interviews at 25% of the places applied to for derm.

I haven't heard anything from most programs. Some have been sending me stuff though. Even a few CD ROMs. Handwritten notes with stuff remembered from interviews are really flattering though! I don't know if a PD has enough patience to handwrite 60+ notes though, do they just do it for everyone?!
