hi everyone....

I was just wondering what all types of dental procedures you guys have observed while shadowing??

I have shadowed an orthdontist ( not much to observe, really) and a general dentist, and with my GP, i saw a couple crowns, simple extractions, one root canal, fillings....thats pretty much it!!!!

ANYONE?🙂

I think I have seen just about all there is to see. I have seen bone grafts, implants, veneers, crowns, fillings, onlay/inlays, extractions, swollen faces that we had to drain the pus out of to numb the patient, patients beat up by cops, etc. I have been lucky enough to shadow a couple of awesome dentists.

wow...now those are pretty sweet experiences....unlike mine, pretty standard stuff 🙄

I worked in a free clinic and i've seen/aided in a lot extractions, root canals, composite/amalgam fillings etc. Although these are mostly standard cases, the condition of the patients made it interesting. most of our patients were homeless or undeprevileged so i got to see some very groteque stuff. made me brush my teeth more often and appreciate dentistry just that much more 😉.

Was it the different procedures you saw or patients getting beat up by cops that made the dentists awesome?
