hi all, i'm really considering enrolling in medicine. i'm just wondering what kind of schedule you guys follow... including classes, recreation, sleep, and daily naps... what's a typical day like? are all of your waking hours focused on your course in medicine?

i'd appreciate a layout by time so:

7am: wake up
9am: class
etc..

thanks a lot!

This varies enormously by school and student and course and year in program. It would be impossible to give you a decent preview that would look anything like what you might end up going through. Also, are talking about hypotheticals (what I SHOULD be doing) or realistically (what I ACTUALLY do)?

Right now... (Anatomy)

8-10 Lecture/Pre-Lab
10-12 Lab
12-1 Lunch
1-6 Workshops/Study
6-7 Dinner
7-12 Study/Go Out with Friends/Etc.

We have a similar schedule, and when we're not in anatomy, class is from 8-12. Everything else is the same. Hypothetically, this is the schedule I should follow...Realistically, as M2D said, there's a little less studying and a little more goofing off. Which usually results in not-so-fun weekends. 😳

I am a 3rd year, my current schedule is:

4:45 am wake up.
5:30am-6:00pm at hospital
6:00-10pm relax, study, etc

rinse and repeat.

This isn't all of 3rd year, but will likely be the schedule for the rest of OB/GYN and for 2 months of surgery.
