Typical work hours of OMFS residents ?

I was wondering if the residents could give me some info on their hours worked in a typical week? I heard about the 80 hour rule. Is this abided by most hospital programs? Say if you work 100 hours one week you would work less the next to average 80 hours per week.

Most programs do not follow the 80 hour work week rule and you won't get to take it easy for a week because the past week was rough. The actual number of hours will vary by program though. As a resident, you can almost always expect to be busy

It doesn't matter, you are working for 4 yrs, there is no break, vacation, free time...if you had to ask go do something else. I just had to straighten out an intern over this same crap something about 'being too tired to read'
