Can anyone discuss what a typical work week would be for a FM resident?
Hours/week, family time, on call, vactation, etc?

Is that when, instead of working, you pump milk all day long instead? I think that's what the chick who needed more time for her boards requested, right?

it totally depends on ur rotation. u have easier ones (like derm) and busier ones (like ur family med svc or im).

for us, my busier months will be abt 70-78 hrs per wk as an intern. on the easier months, it will be 4 calls per month with a variable daily sched (some will be 9-5, i had a few 7-1 days). most of the months are busy months tho where u work 6 days a wk. it's doable.

Its doable. Then you will finish the program, enter the real world (that does not have 80 hour work limitations).

Justwondering is right. It would depend on what rotation ur at. Our program however does not have us doing any actual 24 hour calls. We do 12 hour days, 6 days a week. It may sound weird but we get to go home every night and sleep in our own bed. Family oriented approach for a family medicine physician...
