For anyone who has interviewed at U Chicago this year, how long did it take to get the invite after your secondary was complete? It's been three months for me...

last year i recieved an interview in _march_ after completing the secondary in late august. a bit late by then

I received a rejection awhile ago (I think in December or early January) after being complete since October.

whoa, guess i can keep it on "the list" then 😱

Still no word about interviews? First they lost my secondary... Does anyone have any redeeming experiences or comments about U Chicago? Are there specific reasons, in terms of research, program administration, etc. to hang in? At this point, I think I might just drop my application...my interview enthusiasm is minimal and my thesis really needs to be written.

I wrote them a while back. They say they interview late. I just got an interview at another school for the last weekend in March, so I don't know how much later Chicago could be. I would like an interview because the school is good and because I love the city. But I will admit they seem a little disorganized. This process is drawn out long enough as it is....
Good Luck!

despite this percieved disorganization - their graduates seem to do quite well. just take a look at hhmi investigators who are md/phd - almost 40% of them went to uchicago.

we were talking to dr. elaine fuchs who moved here to rockefeller from uchicago and she spoke highly of the phd training students get. unfortunately there also seems to have been an exodus of a lot of their prominent faculty in many fields.
