U Mich 11/24 Notification?

Did anyone hear back from U Mich on their supposed notification date yesterday? It's bad enough waiting for some indeterminate amount of time to hear back from schools, but when they give you an exact date (the day before a long 4 day weekend no less) and then don't follow through, now that's painful. Lemme know if you guys have had any luck

UMich is usually very prompt. Try giving 'em a call on Monday and following up on your status.

Any news? I e-mailed a student there and they said it could take up to 2 weeks after the date (11/24)! 😱

has anyone who interviewed on 11/19 heard back yet (or is it too early?) how did they let u know? (email, snail,etc) i heard usually theyre very fast too but maybe all the tryptophan in the turkey.... 😴 😴

I got waitlisted right after my 11/19 interview--was on my status page--know of a person who got accepted day of interview. It sucks to be kept waiting--call them and ask for your decsion if you don't hear soon.

If you do get the WL, I know they take A LOT of people from it. At my interview day, of the 10-12 students that I met (talking over lunch) at least 2/3 had come from the waiting list. I heard the number may be as high as 1/2, actually.

The status page you speak of - is this the same one where you submitted the secondary? Good luck; as said, a lot of people come in through waitlist - they had all the students who came to UM through waitlist raise their hands and I think it was 1/2 to 2/3 (I interviewed 11/12). So don't worry!

UMich is a pretty sweet place. don't be afraid to send in updates, etc. to the admissions office. they dig that stuff. best of luck.

I called the office on monday cuz i was getting tired of waiting when i was supposed to have known already, and they said basically "ya, sorry, the committee didnt have time to review all the files they were supposed to on the last meeting, so you have to wait till the next time they meet, on Dec 8"

i interviewed on 11/19 and still waiting, nothing was updated on the site. i called the admissions office and they said the committee is meeting tomorrow (12/8) to discuss stuff so maybe after that there will be an update?


does the long wait mean rejection/Wait List.. . it seems like all the people getting accepted find out really fast 😕 🙁

Thanks, acidhouse! Yeah, I took some time to think about it, and yeah, I'm grateful for the WL now. Hopefully they'll accept me because I was pretty impressed with the school...

Yeah, the "Your Current Status" page just updated with the following info:

"Application Status as of 12/08/2004
You are being offered a place on the wait list. Applicants are placed on the wait list after they interview, and may be offered a spot in the class at any time. Waitlisted applicants may call our office after April 1 to request more information about their relative position on the wait list and the size of the list this year. "
