Hey wondering if the SDN community can help me out. Anyone know what they got off the University of Chicago IM interview day. I am trying to make my way back to the airport and it is going to be pretty tight by public transport. Anyone got recs on shuttle services I called a few that I could find and the closest pick up point is 3 miles away. Now due to the amount of interview dinners I am holding on to a few extra pounds or 10 and will definitely collapse before making it. Any suggestions on travel? I am staying at the I-house for the interview.

Continental Airport Express worked well for me. They go to midway and ohare. I think one-way was $28 and $50 round trip.

For what it's worth, when I interviewed there, one of the apps had to run fast to the airport-O hare. The PC was very understanding and if I remember right, I think they paid for his cab fare. Not sure though.
In my other interviews, when I had tight schedules and buzzer beater flights leaving at 4:30, I stated it before hand with the PC and many of them are even the ones who greet me with it by the interview day itself. Like, just before the tour, the PC will say, this applicant has to get to the airport by___. Most have really been understanding and some, I felt, were genuiney more scared that I would miss my flight than me.

Downside to the shuttle is that you're at the mercy of the other folks they're picking up. If you're the last one on the way to the airport (which you won't be if you're going from Hyde Park to O'Hare) it's basically the same as a taxi but if you're the first of 8 pickups it's going to be a long, nail-biting, clock-watching ride.

If you're going to Midway, just take a cab from UofC...it's a short trip. If you're going to O'Hare...well...just take a cab. Maybe you'll luck out and be able to share a cab w/ another applicant. CTA from Hyde Park to O'Hare will be a massive PITA, shuttles are a problem as above. If you really can't swing a cab, you might as well take the subway since it's probably going to take about the same amt of time as if you take the shuttle and stop at 5 different hotels downtown and be about $25 cheaper.
