Has anyone completed their secondary application to Michigan somewhat recently (in the past few weeks?) If so, what have you heard? I received an e-mail from them mid November asking me to send a photograph and my letters. The school received all the materials requested by 11/18. I haven't heard anything from them since then. I'm starting to get a little worried because I hear once you submit your photo and letters, you normally get an interview within 10 days. Perhaps the Thanksgiving weekend has slowed things down a bit for me?

Also, on the application status page, there is a check mark next to everything (application fee, web secondary, letters, photo) except for one section marked "Technical Standards" which is missing a checkmark. Does anyone know what this is or have a checkmark next to it? Thanks.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Got the letter requesting letters of rec. Finished my secondary mid-Nov and on my status page all it says is under review (status as of 11.19) or something along those lines. There is a check next to everything except technical standards...however, it says the admissions office MAY request the following things from you...so I doubt it's required. Thanks for the response. It's good to know I'm not the only one in this situation. I searched for some more posts and I guess some people get their interviews right away while others have to wait a while. I'll bet the interviews go out in batches so if you happen to get lucky and have everything complete right before a batch, you get your interview right away. If you happened to have completed your app right after one group of interviews got sent out, you have to wait until the next ones.

Anyone else waiting on U Mich after submitting their letters/picture?

I got the request for letters and picture around mid november, submitted the next day and within a week I got an interview. The technical standards thing can't be completed until you get invited for an interview, but all it is is you go to a page read it and accept it.

When is your interview? Also, has anyone heard of people that sent in their letters/picture and then not get an interview? If so, it'd seem like a waste of time.

Apparently they had a cancellation so my interview is on this Friday, the 5th.

Man, you're so lucky. With a little more luck, you'll find out if you got in before the end of the year. I hope that happens to me cause then I can start withdrawing all sorts of applications and save tons of money on travel (assuming I get in of course).

Somehow, I'm getting interviews at all the schools where I either won't find out until Feb (TX schools) or are lower on my list. I need U Mich to come to my rescue!

Isn't everyone though? Here is my semi-related story. I have to sell my house if I am accepted (I only applied out-of-state) so I really need to get my first acceptance. The housing market is not so hot here, every extra week will count. During my interview at OSU they told us at the beggining of Dec. we would get a "status change" email, then we could go online and see our fate. Yesterday I recieved the email. I was shaking I was so excited. I log on and they have changed my official status from "Interview Invitation" to "Descision Pending". What a let down. I will find out within the next two days, but man I felt so cheated yesterday.
I have an interview this friday at Mich. too, I hope they are as fast as some people say they are.

I'm a ****. "descsion pending" was their descision. I've recieved my first wait list. Not an auspicious beggining.
