Hey guys quick question. About a year ago I was at this Q&A thing up at the U of U, and one of the things the assistant dean of admissions told us is that its important to apply to at least 10-15 schools, because admissions can see, even before you are accepted, the number of schools you have applied to, and that if you only apply to a few schools, they will a) know about it and b) not accept you since they will assume you are not serious about becoming a doctor.

however, this seems to flatly contradict what AMCAS says: https://www.aamc.org/students/applying/amcas/faqs/305002/canschoolsseeotherschools.html

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!

Sounds like a scare tactic. I'd focus on what the AMCAS says. There was one lady I was listening to from Baylor at a Q&A a year ago at my university and she was talking about how the average MCAT score from applicants is higher than a 36 and some other "freak-you-out" BS.
