please guide me on one doubt about upenn application requirements.They get recommendation letters thru' CAAPID and in application supplement material list,they are again asking to submit the same 3 recommendation letters.Do we have to submit same letters to upenn again(that we submitted to CAAPID also)or they are something different.

hello ashi, im applying to UPenn PASS also this yr. I mail 3 LOR to the program along with the supplement documents. They r the same ones i mail to CAAPID also. According to my understanding they want a copy of the LOR too.

As per my understanding, they are not asking for LOR's again. They only want them to be send to CAAPID.

Below is what is listed on their webpage which enlists documents to be send to each facility (CAAPID or Univ directly)

"The following documents must be submitted along with the CAAPID application to the application service:

• Official copy of a Course-By-Course Evaluation conducted by ECE (Educational Credential Creditors). The Course-By-Course evaluation report provides the U.S. equivalence of each educational credential plus a list of courses taken and their U.S. and grade equivalents. It also identifies upper level courses and grade point averages. For more information, visit www.ece.org.
• Three letters of evaluation ......."

These materials should be sent to Office of Admissions – PASS Program:
Penn Dental Medicine PASS Program Supplemental Application —
Application Fee —
National Dental Board Examination (NDBE) Part I scores —
Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores —
Official dental school transcripts —
Non-dental school transcripts —
Notarized copy of dental school diploma or graduation certificate —


Application service = CAAPID

For the first question, extracurricular, I used more like a bullet form to create a list.
For the second one, volunteer activities, I created a table and listed everything they asked for each Volunteer activity.

For the remianing 4 - Paragraph form.

Hello.... May I please know wat are the usual stats of applicants to get accepted at U.Penn.
My stats are NBDE Part 1-87, TOEFL- 108, GPA-4, Lots of national and International Academic honors (I mention this with sincere humility) and 3 months of Shadowing in USA and 1 year of non-USA work experience
Do ppl like me stand a chance of getting interview call? If its okay, then may we all discuss our stats here for all those who are willing?

hi Dentist28, you have a really good test scores. you are definately qualify to apply. dont heisitate to apply, i think u got a good chance.
i also applied UPenn this yr. my scores are not even close to be as good as yours.

i just read this on ucsf page too... they need lor's again??? i mean i am a;ready short on orignal lor's ..cant afford to send another copy... can anyone please temme what they did ...

Yes, you read it correct...both UCSF and UOP (2-3 letters) need 3 letters of recommendation ...they say they don;t consider letters provided to CAAPID.

For UOP -- you can send notarized copies of Letters. So you can save your originals...but you still have to open the seal on them..so if you have one set already open...you can use them to get noatarized copies..

Also, Univ of Pittsburgh...needs 4th letter...they will take 3 from CAAPID...send them the 4th one with your supplemental application material

Upenn only need 3 LORs that too to CAAPID.. but if submitting after august 15, they would still take 3 LORs but directly sent to them.. no 4th LOR since they have asked for the details of the 3 evaluators in your supplemental application form...
