My interview day they said that when they know the day (who knows when they'll know) that acceptances will be sent out they will post it on the website. On that day you can check on the website and they are also sending it by snail mail.

Oh, so like where it says when supplemental apps will be sent out, you think? It seems silly to have to keep checking...but I guess I go to their site occassionaly to check stuff out anyway 🙂 Thanks for the info though!

for some reason, i thought it was mar 1. i dunno.

I don't remember Penn being that specific. I think throughout the day they were like it'll be sometime in Mid-March and that, as someone said, the status page would read accepted, waitlisted, rejected. Scary. I think they might ALSO send an email. Sheesh.

So, all we need is one SDNer with a lot of free time to keep checking and let the rest of us know when Penn's made up their mind!

I do know Yale will notify on 3.22.05 - via an email - and that a snail mail will be sent that day as well. But I think that's only if you're accepted. Don't know about waitlists and rejections.

Interestingly, I read on the "Penn countdown" thread from last year that the only two post-interview statuses were either outright acceptance or placement on a multi-tier waitlist (high priority, tier 1, and tier 2)....but if you heard them say it could read "rejected," I guess maybe they changed it this year. Doh!

That would suck...to just see it pop up online like that -- "rejected"...Anyway, I do think its nice that they put it online...Any clue why duke doesn't? I thought they were mailing out their letters in march as well, but then saw on the site that it now says Feb 28 for a mailing date...I guess its all the same to the applicants...But still!

Bidster, you might be TOTALLY right - and probably are. I just assumed that they would give you a rejection status online. Come to think of it though, they said that your status would be available online. if in years past they just said 2nd tier waitlist and not rejection, i have no reason to think that isn't the case. according to last year's stats, they interviewed 750 and accepted 250 or so for a class of 150. Pretty good odds, no?
