Just curious if any current UPenn Med Students could tell a little more about the things they like and/or dislike about UPenn (education, location, etc). Thanks!

I'm not at Penn but I did get in off the waitlist and chose not to go - the biggest reason was financial aid (or lack of). Whereas Baylor (already inexpensive) gave me a full ride, the decision was basically set.

I could see Penn costing 40-50k a year...that can add up fast. I was in love with Penn after I interviewed there, especially the 1 and a half year of science. But Baylor offered the same. Anyway long story short if you get good financial aid I think you will love it there, most people said they do. Also the 1.5 yrs of science is like a Godsend especially now (end of MS1) when all I can think of is in 9 months I'll be in the clinics

Call Gaye Sheffler-- she may match or nearly match competing financial offers. DOn't automatically assume Penn is too expensive.

I agree 18 months is a great idea. Not too fast (Duke is a little too much for me) but enough time to give you a chance to study at your own pace for the boards and decide what you ultimately want to do.

I am already 9 months into Baylor and really enjoying it - the TX Med Center is where I want to end up so personally it was the right place to start

Rumor has it that this only applies if you're considering a similarly ranked private medical school that's given you a scholarship.

In any case, I have a hard time answering the op's question. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
