hi,
can anybody who applied to U Penn please tell me whether i need to sent the TOEFL score directly from TOEFL services?
becoz though they have given the institution and dept code in the PASS Requirements ,they have asked only for the copy of the score report in the application form.
sort of confused.....
Thanks

hi
u do need to send in ur toefl scores through toefl

Hi shilpi,
what abt the NDBE scores?that should be sent through ADA too?they have asked for a copy with the application...
just want to make sure
thanks

yeah send it through the ADA,they may tell during the interview if u have provided photo copy show your originals now but i feel its always better to send it through the ADA

Did you guys noticed that UPenn does not ask for reference letters?

So, should I go ahead and send it anyway or what?

yes dentek2 .....u have to send it thru the official route....they mean the official copy that the various toefl/ada send to them, not copy of candidates copy! altho, when u apply u could also send along your photocopies just in case ECE/TOEFL/ADA take too long to send it over to them (play it safe). they can begin to process ur appli even with ur photocopies and wait for the actual official copies to reach them later for their permanent records. no one really acknowledges candidates copy's photocopy as the real thing!😡 sad....but thats how it works....

meggs sending recos only helps...so if u have a few handy, i would say send them....it can only help....and if they sing praises of ur achievements, then why not?? but then, this is my 2cents....

Yes, I guess you're right. Thanks toothmail

Hello,
i called U Penn office yestday and they told me i don't have to sent the score reports directly from ADA and TOEFL .at the time of the interview they will ask for the originals.i guessed that meant my copy ,what other copies can that mean ,becoz they specified there is no need for the official ones?
can someone else call them and make sure, becoz now i am wondering whether i heard it right?
and yes meggs, they don't need reco letters.1 of my friends who got an interview there 2 yrs back told me ,they would grill u inside out during the interview and sum you up real quick. maybe thatz why they don't place much value on the 'she/he is too good to be true"reco letters, becoz they know everybody will have a real good one prepared, and they rely on their assessment techniques better.
but still i don't see ay harm in sending 1 or 2 reco letters .

i called upenn
they told they dont need any official docs.
only ur school transcript & degree cirty shd b notorised.other thing is ok (i mean photocopy of other docs)
why u guys want to west ur money & time?
priti.🙂

i know 4 people who got interviews at upenn who sent their official reports- i dont know anyone else in connection with upenn. sorry if i gave the wrong info.

will let u guys know about upenn interview in some time. one of my pals had it a few days ago.

the other 3 had great scores (all above 90)but dint get in- i dont know why.

and its true that they accept ppl according to their "ethnic diversity" rules so please dont place too much hope on this school- go for it but dont put all your eggs in that basket! just what i have heard. hope it helps.

Above 90 and nothing? too bad, they probably struggled a lot. did the rest of their number where as great as their NDBE?

Which are their "ethnic diversity rules"? What is this suposse to mean?

atleast last year we did request to send the scores directly from ada and toefl. and at the same time sent notorized copies with the application.
itsme

a friend of mine had a score of 92 and she had very good credentials and good gpa and everything, also work experience, but she did not get into upenn. she made it to tufts and boston, but no upenn.
I called up upenn lats year to find out what they actually wanted, n they said the scores matter to an extent. n the class average fer the last year admissions was 89.5. (which means a few people below 90's too).

hi guys
Upenn dont ask for any official copies , all u need to send is the notarised copies .when u r called for an interview u will be asked to show the originals .
u can check with them @ www.dental. upenn.edu/academic/pass-requirements.html
or call them @ 215-898-0558
i just sent in all my notarised copies along with my application and i had to show all the originals during the interview.

sorry guys...my humble apologies for the mistake in saying that official copies are required. the 3 people i knew -one applied in 2001- and the other 2 are already in tufts. so maybe it doesnt apply anymore or they were cautious. and i had the feeling that the 4th person who just had her interview sent in official copies when i spoke to her a few weeks ago....sorry about that. 🙁

tell us about ur interview compudentist. hope u can inspire us to apply there!
