where did u guys stay??

I'm wondering that, too. There's no student hosting until Sept. 22. My interview is on the 15th, so I need a hotel.

I don't live in pittsburgh, but I visited last week. There's a holiday inn about four or five blocks from the medical school, right off of Forbes. If you hvae an entertainment book, you can get it for about 80 bucks a night. Do a search online though, I think there are four or five hotels within walking distance.

i'm interviewing there on 9/16. from their website and a few calls i found a best western that they claim is within walking distance of campus, and if you ask for the "intern rate" the room is 74/night (including tax). kinda sucks them not having the student host going yet - i figure that's where we'll get the best info about whether the school is right for us.

they don't have rolling admissions right? so does it matter if we interview early or late?

I just made reservations for 9/14 (Sunday night) at that very Best Western. It was $65. I guess it may have been a lower rate cuz it's on a weekend.

For you guys who are interviewing early: you might want to call admissions and see if they can get you a student host even though you'll be there before the hosting program begins. I interviewed last year on Sept. 13 and they found one for me.
Also, second years will be able to answer many more questions than first years seeing as how we don't even take our first exam until the 18th.

Yinz can try the University Club right on campus about 2-3 blocks from Scaife. When I interviewed back in the 20th, century they had pretty good rates for interviewees. I agree with previous posters that staying with a student host is the best way to go. You get a free place to stay and you get some candid scoop on the intangibles.

Iamhere,

As long as you interview before the first week or so in Feb., it doesn't matter. After that they go rolling.

Did any of you guys notice that Pitt's interview page has a link to SDN? That's so cool. 😎 😀
