Hello everyone!
Sorry to begin this as a new thread, but somewhere along the message board line I saw suggestions for the organization that previous applicants to USA used in their autobiographical essay. Could someone re-post the link, or offer suggestions as to this very open ended approach? I am mostly unsure if I should leave any of the "motivations" for pursuing physical therapy in the autobiography or place those in the statement of purpose.

Also, can the autobiography be two pages single spaced(4 pages double spaced)?

Grazie for your help!

I am familiar with USA's DPT application because I have filled one out myself. The school does not give specific formatting instructions. I chose to use 1.5 spacing, although double spaced with 1'' margins is the correct formatting for science and social science writing it left very little room for content. You could contact the school and ask for formatting instructions but my assumption was they would have posted it if it was really important. Assumptions can be dangerous though, so if you have time asking for instructions could be wise. Regardless of how you format they do specify that it needs to be 2-3 pages, so I would stick to that and not do 4 pages double spaced.
As for your question about content within the autobiography. I think it is astute of you to notice that motivation for the profession is asked for in the statement of purpose. I asked the same question: this is a large topic, so should I include it in the autobiography as well? I decided to not directly talk about it, through describing relevant events and decisions that have occurred in my life motivation for Physical Therapy was apparent.

Hope this helps
