I received application completion today afternoon n they wrote that we will notify about IVs in June middle...but it looks like they have started already
 
I also received a phone call yesterday. iv JUNE 28 -29
US citizen - not an AL resident
Caapid Apr 24 completion email may 1

Well, this is the story and I read it in an old thread here in this page. On 2010 UAB had the international dentist program, BUT right after the interviews, they sent a letter to all the people who passed the bench and interview, apologizing because they decided to cancel the program for foreign dentists. People were not too happy of course. After all this years, they got a new dean and this is the first year they are actually doing this. That's the reason why, there is no record of how the bench is and even if you find one of the guys who did the interview or bench at that time, this is a new dean and they are organizing everything from scratch. So, we just have to wait.

Wow, that's amazing fact. I as completely unaware about that. Thanks for sharing this. May be that is the reason I didn't hear back from them last year.
 
who got iv, can you please share your toefl score. And, anyone here applied with toefl score below 100 or university requirement?

Hi!! Do you know if we have to send all the documents that they require in one envelope? or can we request the score reports from the institutions to send directly to UAB? I would appreciate your help!
 
@Faith02 I emailed them the same question today. I'll let you know once I get their reply.

I sent my score reports in the same envelope just because i had some sealed copies laying around. I don't think it will be a problem either way.
 
Below are the documents they require if you are called in for an interview:
  • *Official TOEFL score report
  • *Official NBDE Part I score report. If available, official NBDE Part II score report
  • *A copy of the your dental license if applicable
  • *A copy of your dental school diploma
  • *Official transcript from dental program and any other postgraduate studies or other higher education transcripts
  • *Proof of residency (a copy of immigration documentation, US passport or permanent resident card or Visa)
  • *$250 non-refundable bench test fee - Please make cashier's check or money order payable to UAB
I have contacted them and they say that "We will accept copies at this time however if you are accepted you will have to produce official documents." So for TOEFL and NBDE I plan to send them photocopies for now.



Also, regarding the bench test, here is what they have told:

  • Procedures will be described at the time of the bench exam and may include operative and/or crown and bridge. Applicants are welcome to bring eyewear.
  • In addition to the bench test, you will participate in a diagnosis of treatment planning exercise which will include a case evaluation. The case and materials will be provided for you at the time of the exam.

Fellow students please share your stats.. because I am observing that those are getting interview call who are done with part 2 and have gpa above 3.5 and toefl around 100 or above 100
just my observation though

Anyone who attended UAB interview last week knows when they are going to send the acceptance/rejection?
