Does anyone know what the schedule is like the first two years? Specifically how much class time there is per day?

Thanks!

Well it's been a while, but here's what I've gathered from talking to the 1st and 2nd years.

First three months of Fall semester:

8-10 CMB Graduate course
10-1 Gross Anatomy lab/case studies

Last three months of Fall semester:

8-10 CMB Graduate course
The med students take Biochem in this block but you have already taken the graduate equivalent so you're exempt. Instead you do a mini lab rotation.

First Year Schedule:

Aug-Oct (hard)
8-10 grad school curriculum
10-11 or 11-12 case studies
1-2 lectures or lab
2-4 lab (often extending later, alternating days)
You will not be able to attend Ethics, but still have to take the exams (which is a joke anyways, use the scripts).

Oct-Dec (cush)
8-10 graduate school courses
no Biochemistry or Genetics
Rotation

Jan-Mar (cush)
8-10 graduate school courses (you get your pick from electives, some are MWF only)
Physiology (no Cell Biology), alternating days
You will have no Spring Break due to med school and grad school schedules differing.

Apr-Jun (hard)
8-10 graduate school courses, ending in May (again electives, some are MWF)
10-12, 1-3 neuroscience, nutrtition, behavior
(toughest section probably)

Second year is same as your non-MD/PhD classmates. Pharm, Micro, General Path first semester. Systems Path second semester. On the whole, more classtime, more difficult, but more interesting and more relevant second year than first.
