Hi Everyone,
I am trying to work on my supplemental applications quickly. I have a question about the UACP one. I am not sure what this question is really asking. I am confused.
Part of your curricular assignment will require you to perform 50 hours per academic year of community service to learn about and address healthcare issues and concerns pertinent to the Central Appalachian region. You will work with school-aged children and other citizens of the region to educate them about preventive healthcare, dietary issues, dental hygiene, and medication compliance. Furthermore, you will participate in community assistance programs and in outcomes assessments of collaborative clinical trials and healthcare and wellness projects. In order to teach preventative healthcare it is crucial that you are pursuing and represent a healthy lifestyle that includes physical fitness, the avoidance of tobacco, illegal drugs, and excessive alcohol use. You should be objective about whether you can effectively serve as a role model in this regard.
If you cannot serve as a role model in this preventative health care program and desire a community service project other than educating others about wellness and healthy living, thus limiting your experience in effectively teaching preventive healthcare, what alternative community service work would you propose to perform? Please answer in 200 words or less. Please use the space below to comment in 200 words or less.
I don't think I would have a problem doing the school service project...so am I still suppose to propose a service project anyway? That's what I'm confused about.
