PURDUE:
I have searched and searched and find bare minimum information regarding Purdue. Am I doing something wrong in SDN search?

I am considering adding this school to my list and seeking general advice (information that isn't on their website per say). Examples: area and cost of living, does the school have a particular area(s) of strength or weakness, how are GPAs weighted and what their preference tends to be for OOS, do you feel supported, any pros or cons, etc.

TENNESSEE - UT vs LMU:
And, honest question, what are the factors of why some people choose LMU over UT? Right now, UT is definitely on my list because it's my in-state and LMU doesn't offer in-state tuition so it's not on my list due to overall cost and lack of teaching hospital. Please share your pros and cons for both.

Thanks so much!

I don't know what you were doing, but probably  it's not the most intuitive software.

I don't know if that link will work for you, but if you click the search button, change the location to "This forum," check the Titles Only box, and then search Purdue, you'll find plenty. Hope that helps!

This has always been interesting to me because inherently (and maybe this is only in my particular circle) the people I have known to apply to LMU have not applied to UT and vice versa. I think since LMU is a private institution that runs on a very different type timeline, it doesn’t attract the same students- especially if you are factoring in state TN students who may not bother with LMU since there’s no in state tuition. UT also has more prerequisites if I remember correctly! Though obviously I’m sure students apply to both but they are VERY different schools! LMU has no teaching hospital, distributive model, higher tuition but very low COL area. UT has teaching hospital, more access to specialist opportunities, lower tuition if you are TN resident (as I think you are) but most likely higher COL as closer to a city. It really depends on the kind of education you want/ experience you’re looking for. Always gone plus go to the cheapest school 😆 especially with the current uncertainties of loans and whatnot

Thank you for this effort. Yes, unfortunately, most have minimal/no information about the school's program OR it is just highlighted as a keyword for somewhere someone applied but no details OR it's 10+ years old. :/

I agree on typically seeing UT or LMU and not both very often! I'm drawn to a teaching hospital, and as of now, I don't plan to apply to LMU. Just wanted to see if I was missing something and should reconsider.

Now, if I can just find out more on Purdue.

Any students attending these schools....please chime in on your recent experiences? Thanks so much!
