Hi,

UBC does GPAs by percentages. What would my GPA of 76% be equivalent to on a 4.0 scale? I'd like to know how competitive I am (or if I am at all) in the states.

Thanks!

That's not exactly how it works. You need to calculate your AADSAS gpa for every course and then average them (taking into account them amount of credit hours..whether it's a full year or half year course).

Whatever ubc uses for letter grades will correspond to an aadsas gpa (ie. 80-100 at ubc = A = 4.0 on AADSAS)

A=4.0
B=3.0
C=2.0
D=1.0
F=1.0

just ignore your UBC GPA percentage and use the scale given above.

Some schools look at X+/-, some don't.

A- is 3.666666
A is 4.0
A+ is 4.333333

same with all letter grade +/-.

Yeah even if you try to do the conversion...76% won't translate to more than 3.5 on 4.33 scale...that's what I was told by Science advising...

Oh, and the +/- scale will apply more for UBC...since UBC has the +/- scale, that's how AADSAS is going to calculate the GPA...google AADSAS gpa conversion table and you will find the one with +/-...

Hey Cangnome, congrats on the NYU interview!! I have been reading your posts etc for a while...You must be really excited! Good Luck and rock it! Show them the power of Canadians!
