So, how often is too often to be calling Mr. Russo? I think I called him about a week and a half ago, and he seemed to encourage calling periodically to see if you have moved up- but is it too much to call again today? 😀

when i called he said that calling every week isnt bad...so i would guess if you call once a week, you arent calling too much.

called, mr. rosso picked up and informed me that i was taken off the waitlist and now accepted.
i interviewed on sept 9 so this was a great test of patience.
movement is happening-keep the faith!

I saw it too. No, we don't see the withdrawls, the person just responded to the initial listerve email (I think the person probably thought they were just writing back to Mr. Rosso).

Well, here's hoping for some serious movement on Monday! Based on SDN's upper 1/3rd movement I think we can extrapolate that they're about halfway through the top 1/3rd...so I guess I'm in the bottom half of the top 1/3rd

First and foremost, the Mets won !!!!!!!! My guess is that there are 30 - 50 people left in the upper 1/3

as a fact I do kow that there were more than 100 people per third ( my assumption is overall 125 overall per third.

After some movement we can see that only about 10 people from our SDN list have been accepted so My guess would be somwhere between 75-90 are still in the upper third, but who knows???

thanks, sekem. i am thinking your lower number is about right...now that i think about it

let's assume 120 people in the top 1/3 and 20+ (max i found was 22?) of upper third are on the forum. that suggests the forum represents 1/6 of the total.

and 1/2 of forum members have gone from WL to acceptance.

my calculation: 50% of upper third still waiting which means 10*6 or 60 people.

another few weeks may get us through the top third (the greens next week and the rest the following)

gosh- did i just write an equation for all this? sad.

hey guys, i wouldn't guess so much into it because if there were that much people on the waitlist, 90% of the class would come from the waitlist; it seems highly unlikely to me. i think the waitlist number is much lower than that so i think things will move much faster in the coming week.

Don't panic Cirrus! You're at least still on TWO wait list. Some people are only on ONE! And plus, You're in the upper 1/3 at Buffalo, which Mr. Rosso said has a good chance of getting an acceptance! So the questions is not whether you'll get into med school or not, but its which one!

Cirrus- really don't freak out, upper 1/3 Buff = delayed acceptance. you will get it soon - promise... Also, if I'm not mistaken, Downstate's hold list is for those they would have accepted if they had the spots, and i think is a lot better than the regular waitlist (could be wrong but thats what Ive heard). So who knows, maybe you'll even be a fellow Downstater next year

Ah, yeah I've read that thread before. It's possible I'm getting my schools confused (I haven't really been scrutinizing it since I was not on the waitlist/hold). That was just what I've picked up on the boards. This very well might have been for another school that I was thinking of and I certainly do not have any inside knowledge of which list is better. Sorry about that 🙁

Hi all,

I've been a long-time lurker and figured I should post. I just got accepted to UB this morning. I was in the upper 1/3 of the waitlist and interviewed back in October. It's my first and only acceptance so far, so I'm pretty excited.

Good luck all-- there is movement. Also, I got the list serve email before my status page changed. So, it may be easier for some just to wait for the email instead of constantly checking the status page. Easier said than done for those of us that are running out of patience though.
