last invw date so far is 11 june , so i dont think they accept till mid june... it may take longer... my opinion

Hello I would be interested in kilgore typodont and teeths. Pls email me at [email protected]. I read in the post somebody mention of Super 8 motel that is close to campus. Any suggestions please.

Also I would like to know more about the bench exam held last year that would give us some more idea.
My first question is that in class2 cavity prep they give mod prep or mo/do
2. Also I would like to ask in wax exercise is it just heating and making some shape out of wax or also carving tooth from wax block as we used to do in DA.

Anybody who is familiar please let us know.

Thank u.

@ augustian
from a student who attended last years interview/bench test

1) class 2 will be mostly mo ...
2)carving some object..not a tooth
3) melting the wax and filling the given shapes
4)crown prep

jane miller will also send u a email regarding bench est details once u confirm ur interview date

hope that helps..

Motel 8 is the closest. From airport you can take AT bus for 8$ and then transfer to 15L bus on Billings street. 15L bus will take you from Motel 8 to the university for 2$,goes every half an hour, schedule-google RTD. You can even walk, but it will be about half an hour.
For the bench test get a lab coat- less changing, less staff to carry.
Get burs, sizes of which you know-to achieve precise reduction.
They did not ask to carve tooth yet.Revise it just in case.
I want to help, so do not hesitate to ask questions.

Thank u very much oracle...few questions:

1. are retentive grooves necessary in class 2 amalgam
2. in class 2 composite design do we make reverse curve or not and what is depth of proximal box. is it 0.75-1.00 mm
3. in wax exerecise can give u some example that we can try at home

I appreciate ur reply......🙂

Grooves are pain....Do not bother.Gingival extent dictated by location and shape of adjacent tooth, since there is no caries on plastic teeth. You will need to go as deep as to be under contact point and have achieved clearance with adjacent tooth of 0.5 mm.Reverse curve is necessary to preserve strength of the tooth, do not forget 90 cavosurface angle
To prepare for wax exercise I watched University of Michigan videos and all others on Youtube. And remember wax gets soft when heated and it is a lot easier to remove.

Yeeeeeahhh, I got invitation today for may 21st..I am so happy and now I would like to know more about the bench .

Last year some people got invitation a day or two before interview. Two people refused their seats after orientation and one person got ill and had to quit a week into program, so there was another spot.

hi oralcare i have few questions about the bench exam
1. regarding electrical handpiece. what will be the speed. i m worried becoz i think it will be very slow when compared with the handpiece with airotor.
2. will they specify about the type of tooth prep only at the time of exam?
3.what type of wax they will give for wax exercise.[sticky wax or anythingelse]. becoz i didnt get a clear picture about the wax exercise.

Thank u oralcare123 and fulldenture. Just a quick question which I m not clear. For composite class 2 I understand that there is no reverse curve just we need to flare proximally but what would be the depth of proximal box. In strudevant I read it should be around .75- 1.0 mm as compared to 1.5 for amalgam. Please can u explain. thank u

@ all
me too not clear abt composite and amalgum prep
pls can someone clear this

another thought:
wat if they give crown prep for upper teeth(molar/incisor)?? i would be so difficult,

Do they ask composite class 2 prep? I dont think so..As far as I know its MO Class 2 amalgam prep, Full gold crown and wax exercise..till last year they were asking gold crown on upper molar and class2 in lower but last year they changed; This year they might change again.

The tooth is a plastic and in a dentoform so extend your cavity( BOX) just below the contact area. No specific depth.

All the batches will have the same preps on the same tooth. They can change the tooth no. and the prep thts all.

Hey,

The mail that I received mentioned that they would provide us with the material for the skill test but we could get our own burs and instruments if we wanted.
Please correct me if I am wrong!

Hello all!!
congrats to all who got an interview call. Dude I how how it feels to get an interview call. This is like one step up to your dreams.
Anyways I received a letter from Jane and she said that I would have to email her or call and confirm that I will be coming for my interview before April 15.
I did reply her back the same day confirming YES. But I still haven't received any confirmation from her. I even left a VM on the # given in the letter.
But still no reply. Are some of you in the same boat as me for not getting any confirmation back?
please reply coz its freaking me out.

Also Is it possible for any student who got a reply back from Jane for a prior interview date and help us by giving details of the interview.
What kind of teeth and typhodont are we using in the interview?

Thanks!

any female for may 7th interview call???

So Jane wrote in the email that we can use Electric or air driven
For preps
Proximal Class 2 amalgam or composite*
Crown prep- full metal or PFM *

* tooth # to be given at the school

sorry, i couldnt get u. can u explain.

I mean that all batches will have the same type of prep. Eg if its a class2 on tooth 14 then every batch will have the same. Hope this helps.

Where is the pick up point of the bus from the Denver International airport ? We'll be arriving by 7 pm flight on 5th May. Will buses be available at this hour ?

Hi. Just go to RTD website for denver and look up skyride. It gives you details of timing and also transfers to where u wanna go. My suggestion that if you drive sometimes u can get cheap car rentals from the airport.

Why would you want to go through all this stress when you can book Hotel with us for $70 per night and get free shuttle and breakfast and shuttle to school also?

I think thats not fair with first batch because they are the only ones in dark then. As rest all can practice after they announce tooth # for 1st batch..Just my personal views...I think either they should announce tooth # or change them for every batch. This way will be fair for everybody. And fulldenture you are current student there, What is your opinion?......BTW i am in 2nd batch.

As much as I understand your frustration I differ. The reason being that it will not matter what tooth he/she is given for preparartion. There is no difference in cutting a PFM on tooth 14 or 30. everything thing is the same. the same finish lines, the same taper, etc etc. so for those in the first batch just dont worry, practice as much as possible.
