Anyone know anyone at this school? would like to hear a current student's perspective. How does the program compare to US schools?

I've got a friend who just finished her first year at Dublin. She loves it and often facebooks me asking if I've applied yet.

I will be applying for the 2012 matriculation.

It's an AVMA accredited school so it is just as good as any other AVMA accredited school in the US, in terms of credibility.

A vet I used to work with went to Glasgow and she said that generally EU schools tend to give you more large animal education, and she felt she was better prepared to head into the large animal sector upon graduation compared to her colleagues that went to North American schools. Not to say that US schools don't give you preparation, but I think she meant you have a broader education as opposed to having to stream into LA, SA or mixed in your 3rd year or so.

There are a bunch of us on here that go to UCD or will be in the Fall. There are also several threads about the school/getting accepted/etc. This one is the most recent I think: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=690240

The program spends a bit more time on food animal/large animals/farming than the majority of the US schools over small animals and equine, but generally the content is the same (and it's fully accredited by the AVMA).

Is there anything in particular you'd like to know about??

This is the program site that describes the classes etc. if you want to take a look around: https://myucd.ucd.ie/program.do?programID=53
