i am out of state (FL) but i had a question about UC collaboration. do the uc schools discuss applicants at all? i was just wondering if they weer all individual, non-communicating entities or if there was in fact some communication. also, does anyone who has interviewed at ucla know their statistics from last year? i.e. # applicants, #interviews granted, # acceptances given? if so - they do they give data for out of state as well?

You might be able to find that information in MSAR, the UCLA SOM website, or by personally emailing the dean with those questions. (third source is a joke, I wouldn't do it) 😀

MSAR will usually include # applicants, interviews, and acceptances (in and out of state), Entering class GPA, MCAT scores, yadda yadda.

Now I'm not one to propose conspiracy theories, but I know that UC med school adcoms do communicate with each other. I also suspect they may discuss specific applicants, my shoddy reasoning being that oft people get into one UC quite easily while not even getting interviewed by the other UCs. Rare is the applicant with all five UC interviews.
