What is the UCBSO known for? Like, SUNY is known for their program in vision therapy (or sth like that), is there any area where Berkeley is particularly specialized in?

Also, is it true that UCB opt students have to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA? I thought I read that on their website...

Having spoke with a couple of optometrist who have graduated from UCBSO, it is known to have the highest passing rate of the NEBO, great clinical experience, and knowledge of ocular health. U.C. Berkeley is known for being a research institution, so I'm sure their research in vision science is really strong.

I also don't think there is a GPA requirement because like other optometry schools some students repeat classes. I know two people who are currently first years at UCBSO, but I haven't asked them too much about the school.
