aren't most of these people already enrolled in medical schools elsewhere since it's so late? boy, it must be disappointing for those people if they had really wanted to go to davis and had simply given up.

I had a friend on the top-tier waitlist and wanted to stay in CA. But she also got into Northwestern. She got tired of waiting so late in the game so she withdrew and enrolled at NWU. Of course, NWU is a great school, but she went to UCD ugrad with me and wanted to stay in CA and Davis so bad. But couldn't just wait while NWU was knocking on the door.

My other friend who got in off the waitlist was luckier. She held an acceptance at Boston U. They don't start till late August. So she waited and got the acceptance. The NWU friend would've gotten off if she waited. Just luck I guess.
