Is the UCD Dublin supplemental due October 1st or by December 17th? I thought the online supplemental was due by October first, but then the website says something about all supplementary material is due by December 17th? Is that the online supplemental and transcripts they are referring to? or just transcripts? Thanks in Advance!

I thought I saw that it was due Dec 17th as well. I had trouble trying to figure out where and if we need to send transcripts from their website - did you find that info somewhere on there?

I had trouble even finding the link to their supplemental app. If someone has the link that would save me hours of trying to navigate their website!

So I found out that the supplemental along with transcripts are due by Dec. 17th. I found this info on the AAVMC websites College requirements page, click on UCD Dublin and it say that everything is due by the 17th of Dec. and the yalso have the address to send transcripts to on there. Hope this helps🙂

Thanks for the link. The supplemental has a section for a personal statement with the prompt: "Please outline the reasons for your interest in this programme and your particular strengths as a candidate.". I understand talking about why we want to go to UCD, but how do you answer the second part without repeating the VMCAS personal statement?

From what I've read in previous threads, many successful candidates just modified their personal statements slightly (or not at all) for Dublin

Do they require official gre scores? I was just sending along final score reports and ucd was not an option on the ets website.

I saw in the VMCAS book that UC Dublin requires Biochem with a lab. I couldn't confirm this from reading their website. Does anyone know whether that's indeed the case? I'll have to scramble to find a lab on that subject somewhere in Northern California.

I am on the supplemental application page where it says Application Menu (underneath it has admission term, status, fee, upload document, degree...), but I don't see a section for a supplemental essay. Does anyone know where there is a link to the essay and the essay prompt??

An email went out recently (within the past week) reminding applicants that the supplemental app was due Dec 17th along with transcripts and supporting docs (passport and dr. lic.). In the email was the link to the supplemental app and an email address to check whether docs have been received

Does anyone know when we should hear from them? I hate all the waiting..

I'm pretty sure I read that last year people started getting phone calls towards the end of this month about acceptances

I think it was around the first week of February or so that people started getting phone calls last year.

Yup! That's about when I got my phone call! It was awesome. If you have your mobile listed then when they call it, it'll show up as a +33 number if I remember correctly. 😀

Good luck everyone!

But also don't worry I didn't hear a response until I think it was about March. So sometimes it does take a while, also some students didn't get official acceptance I think until about a month before they got here (but that was only a few students)

If anyone has any questions let me know 🙂

:luck: Good luck from the Emerald Isle 🙂

Does anyone have any information about Dublin's admission statistics? IE - average GPA/hours/etc?

I had trouble finding it for Dublin

Because we are only the second graduate entry class, I don't think there are entry statistics for the two classes.
Also because in Europe students enter veterinary school after high school it is different they have different entry statistics there.

"We look for a GPA of 3.2 or above, and applicants should have a minimum, but preferably more, of two weeks Animal/Veterinary work experience."

I personally got a good laugh out of the "two weeks of animal/veterinary experience."

But yeah, it is pretty much an incredibly different system over there. They do not grade on a 4.0 scale and the GRE is not looked at. I think the best we can do is press submit and cross our fingers.

If you are an American student then you only need to apply via VMCAS. I was confused by this when I was applying, but Atlantic Bridges applications are mainly Canadian. I'm not saying you can't apply via Atlantic Bridges but I think its mostly used for Canadian applicants.
If you guys have questions about your applications email Mr. John Buckley and he will answer your questions its [email protected] he coordinates a lot of the application stuff

Good Luck :luck:

Hey guys 🙂

I'm the class rep for class of 2014 grad entry kids. If you have questions, etc. let me know. John Buckley already sent me to people who wanted to hear from a current student.

@Karadyan is right, most of the Atlantic Bridge applicants are Canadian, but my roommate applied through it and she's from California. They're admission deadlines are a bit different and they tend to find out later than the VMCAS applicants. Let me know if there is something specific you want to know about it!

Knowing that people have started to hear their admissions decision is making me freak out. If they do them all at the same time and I did not get a phone call it usually means it's because the rejection letter is in the mail 🙁

awaring1, do you know people who have heard from UCD already?

do you know when we should start hearing, and how they inform people of acceptances/rejections?

I saw from other threads (Dublin vs. PEI) that at least two people have heard so far. I have no idea what this means. I know last year people heard their acceptances at different times. As to how they were notified, I know one was a phone call and another was... email? I think last year people got phone calls and snail mail acceptance letters. They couldn't just make it easy...

I wish everyone luck! I mean c'mon.. vet school in Dublin? How f'n awesome.

I got my phone call from UCD about this time last year, but didn't get a letter in my email until mid-February. Because of the way they do their admissions, they send out acceptance letters in batches. It seemed to be pretty much a group in February, a group in March, a group in April etc. So don't freak out if you don't get a phone/call soon, it does not mean you've been rejected! They accepted people all through the summer too to make sure they have a full class of 40 students.

Good luck guys!

Just have to say I can't believe we are asking people if they have questions it seems so long ago that we were in the exact position they are...anyways the same goes if anyone has questions feel free to ask 🙂
:luck:

Thanks for the offer! Just waiting to hear one way or the other. This is my last hope this year - graduating undergrad in April and then I'll re-apply if this doesn't work out.
