UCI pharmacy school?

hey californians (or anyone who knows), I've heard a rumor that UC irvine is establishing a new pharmacy program. Is there any truth to this???

I also heard something about this when I was still there... I heard something about a possibility of having the entering class in '09 (this is preliminary news before the new chancellor arrived). Who knows, the new chancellor has established a nursing program so a pharmacy school is more than likely. Too bad, I would have loved to attend pharmacy school at UCI. Such a nice campus but the continual construction was a pain my last few years there.

i think its a new pharmaceutical science degree thats going to start fall 06. Under the change major section it lists this as a new option.

yeah,i heard the same thing..i think i got lucky cause im just starting college so i could probably transfer to UCI then..i think they have an undergrad degree for pharmaceutical sciences..

Wow! 2009? I think I'll be right on time for UCI Rx.

Now that gives me more options in sounthern California.

i'm confused...

is it just a new option for a major - a bs in pharmaceutical science, or is it also a new pharmacy school opening in 2009?

You're right, it's not a new pharmacy school. Just a new major. I think UC Santa Barbara also offers a similar pharm science major.

Hey. I go to UCI and so far I've heard this..

The BS in pharm. sciences is one of the 3 new programs being introduced with the new college of health sciences. The other 2 are BS in nursing science and BS in public health.

The Pharm. sci major is effective this Fall 2006.

MS and PhD programs are also being discussed. no news on those programs yet.


I'll post more info when I go to the student affairs office tomorrow. 🙂
