Originally from Southern California and would like to go home, but am not sure ho much prestige will matter in the long run. UC Irvine/Davis residents match into fellowship well but with the poor radiology job market I wonder how much where one trained helps with employment.

I am considering academia so all three may bee better then UCI however I would likely be just as happy in private practice.

In terms of Yale vs. BIDMC both are similar in terms of what they provide academically. The major difference probably being location.

Any advice? Again my main concern is 1. findings work after residency, 2. staying in academics.

BIDMC>=Yale>UCI=UCD

None of them is really going to give you a huge advantage for an academic job. Academic job is obtained either by internal connection (they hire their own fellow or even send their resident to do a fellowship somewhere else and then come back as faculty) or by going to UCSF or MGH and join a mid tier program that love to have a faculty from top places.

Fellowship placement means nothing. Every program has someone who is going to Hopkins for some sort of fellowship.
