Can anyone tell me where I can find the match list for UCLA or maybe post it? Thanks!!
Means their internship year pgy-1 (post graduate year 1) they then may go on to other things year 2 like gas, rads, etc. I also think transitional year=cushy internship year.Originally posted by BUmiken12
What is "Medicine-Preliminary" and "Transitional Year?"
preliminary is for many programs like ER that are 1,2,3,4 programs and the actual ER residency is a 2,3,4 so you do a prelim year in another field(ie only PGY2s are accepted). Transitional year is when you didnt get what you wanted or are unsure and will be applying again next year most likely.

I think that's normally true, except for this list. I went back and looked at the website with all the names and many of the "transitionals" are actually just prelims going into radiology, ER, anesthesiology etc. Not sure why they did it this way.
Here is the link, click here http://www.medstudent.ucla.edu/ and then click 2003 match list, but you need a login and password.Originally posted by Yogi Bear
hey, is there a link w/ people's names on it? it might be easier to see where each person went since the current format of school/speciality gets mess up when u try to sort by school.
