For those of you who attended UCLA, how did you find the overall premed atmosphere on campus? Was getting into premed orgs like EMRA, Stroke Force/Team, etc super competitive? Also, as I was planning on changing my major, is biochem, MCDB, or MIMG at UCLA recommended for premeds.
Graduated a few years ago so it's been a while.

I recall them being somewhat competitive... one of those orgs I remember they were interviewing quite a number of interested candidates since everyone knows about them and is interested in getting clinical experience. Lots of premeds on campus, then and I'm sure now.

Personally, I'd recommend not being a science major. Many people I started school with who were premed gave up by the time they graduated, many in the 1st 2 yrs. Others are still working towards it 6+ years post-graduation trying to make up for mediocre undergrad GPAs. Kinda funny how they thumbed their noses at the humanities majors. The smart ones I know were Spanish/philosophy/etc. majors and eased themselves into everything by taking the prereqs gradually and enjoying college. They're in med school / residency now.
