I had to make the same choice a week ago. I chose ucsf becaus its close to home and to my family. Both are great school so u can't go wrong so maybe look at the other stuff besides the school. Price, family, and which will help u more after u graduate. I would go to the school that's closer to where u want to practice afterwards bc then u can Start making connections sooner.

Good luck!

And it sounds like u like ucla more from what I read

I think UCSF would be better. From talking to the students, UCLA REALLY focus on research and less on clinical. UCSF on the other hand will give you better opportunity in terms of getting clinical opportunities.

Agreed +1

most ucla grads have to do gpr/ageds

ACS,
Were you there this passed Monday? I remember a girl asking if some pre-reqs could get waived. I hope my psychology requirement gets waived by a Sociology class I took. I know it probably wont but oh well. I remember you telling me that it would be hard to choose if you got into UCSF too, if you are who I am think

Yeah I am going there. I really liked the school. I know I hope they go easy on that Psychology requirement, but if not it looks like I will try and take it a a community college because if I take it at Cal Poly its going to be expensive

acs, May I inquire as to why living in a real city is a con?

I'm also trying to decide between UCLA and UCSF. UCSF is still getting back to me on a prerequisite course as well.

Hey guys, congrats on getting accepted to UCSF.

Im a D1 at UCSF and just wanted to give you some info to help you make your decision. I am from LA myself and dont find SF crowded at all. I even think that LA was much more crowded than here. During school, you really dont have time to go out and wont really get stuck in traffic because most probably you will be going to UCSF housing(close to campus, or a shuttle ride away). Anyways, this is as far as city goes.

The school itself is absolutely amazing, and I liked it alot. if you need more info message me and I might be able to help you out.

But dont forget, UCLA is great too. They just get less clinical training than we do. We are progressing really fast in pre clinic lab right now and my friends at UCLA just started doing some operative this quarter.

good luck
