Hi Everyone,

I am sure like me, there are many of you out there that consider UConn as their top choice. I have an interview on Oct 1st and i wanted to ask if there is anyone that has interviewed in Uconn before and can provide an insight on what to expect (Greatly appreciated btw). Also, is there anyone else down for october 1st?

I interviewed there last year. I thought UCONN was the best (not the food though). Dean of Admissions talked to us for a really long time, but he told us literally everything there was to know about their admissions process and even gave us seemingly unbiased advice on other schools and all sorts of things you would never expect to hear during an interview. It basically turned into an SDN forum but with an extremely credible source of information. We also saw all the class rooms, labs, and clinic. One interview with two faculty. Very relaxed and laid back. Open application interview with no set questions.

Nope. I got wait listed and rejected a few days ago actually.

Also, that guy told everyone that we could talk to him for advice on choosing schools if accepted to multiple, even if you get rejected from UCONN. He said people take him up on the offer all the time.

It may have been because I was OOS. I forgot. The guy will tell you how it works there. All the interviewers go into a room and present you to everyone. They get to ask your interviewer questions and hopefully you gave them enough info (and good) to answer their questions. Then they rate you on a scale, add up the points, and put you into an an excel file. Then they send out invites in that order. I think they factored in residence though. I might be wrong.

They just never got that far in the list to invite me. I thought I had withdrawn, but I guess not. They have a small class, around 43.

I think pmanning19 is referring to Dr Thibodeau who is associate dean of admissions. Really cool guy. Overall the interview is really laid back with a tour of the facilities and lunch with some students. At the end of the day you have your interviews (around 2:00ish maybe if I remember correctly). I was done before 3:00. Best of luck!!
