Hey all,
I applied to the full-year, program A at UConn. I recieved an "application complete" email. I called Lynda last week. who said that they are still deciding.

Anyone else hear anything? I am trying really hard to relax and just let it go, because no matter how much I worry and stress, I STILL don't know...but I am having a hard time waiting.

Anyone else out there? Let me know!

Peace!

I applied to the 'program B' track and have not heard anything either, but here's what they say with regards to interviews:
"If our Post Bac committee wishes to interview you, they would start at the end of April and into May. If chosen you will receive an e-mail inviting you in to interview as late as mid May."

This leads me to believe that they will start sending out interview invites around mid-April.

Good luck.

Hello Everyone,

I applied to Uconn Post Bac Program A.
I'm certainly excited and awaiting results.

I'm just curious on stats anyone?

I'm a psych major, I'm 26, graduated college 2006, and have a community health / research background.
What brought you guys/gals to choose this post bac program and any thoughts on Uconn? Any thoughts on what brought you on this new path to pursue medicine 😉 I was curious does anyone know roughly the number of students accepted into this program?

Good Luck Everyone!

I applied for Program B and also received an email saying that they have my complete application. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Wishesonstars84,
I am 29, a teacher, and graduated from UCONN. I like UCONN because it is highly recommended by my friends who graduated or are studying there now. I also like that is is close to my home. I want to go into medicine because I love science and people. The two meld together beautifully in medicine 🙂.

However this all turns out, I will be a Doctor! 😀

I am so glad to see that someone started this thread! I have been so anxious waiting to hear back. I got the "confirmation email" saying that they received all my materials:

."Dear Applicant:.
.Thank you for applying to the University of Connecticut's Post-Baccalaureate .
.Program. This note acknowledges receipt of your application and at this time .
.your file is considered complete. We will start e-mailing those who will be asked in for an interview by the end of March to interview in mid-April.".

But it's the end of March and I still haven't heard anything! Has anyone else heard back?

Here are my stats:
I am 24 years old and graduated in 2009 with a Psychology and Science in Society Degree, always with the intention of doing a post-bacc to get my pre-med requirements done because I wanted to be 100% sure of what it was that I wanted to do. I have not been able to find employment since graduating, so I've been volunteering at various non-profits since then. I am from CT and went to school in CT as well.

This waiting is driving me CRAZY! Anyone with any information, please post 🙂 Good luck to everyone.

Hi everyone !

I also applied and got the confirmation e-mail...I already got in to UPenn and a few other places for the full year program so they really need to hurry up and tell us ! I am a 20 year old violinist graduating from The Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University...I am also a Canadian citizen which means that I probably have no chance at all but whatever...we'll see !

Thank you for starting this thread !

Hello All,
I spoke with Lynda today and she informed me that everyone should get a call (for interview) or an e-mail (for anyone that will be put on hold) by the end of the week. Good Luck!!:xf:

Thank you so much for letting us know!!!

And CCSU (Central Connecticut State University) is a post-bacc for people who never started or completed their pre-med requirements. I applied to Program A at UConn.

Good luck to everyone 🙂 and as soon as people find out what their statuses are, please let the rest of us know!

Avoid CCSU if possible. It will be an uphill battle the whole way. I have a lot of experience with this university, so if you want to know more, you can PM me.

Thanks so much for this update!!

I called Lynda today and was told that some applicants were going to get called today for the interview and some next week. Everything will be finalized by April 15th (more interviews, waiting list, and rejections). Just wanted to give you guys an update. 🙂

Hello everyone,

Has anyone recieved a phone call?

Or an email requesting interview?

I'm still waiting to hear.

Good Luck Everyone!

hi everyone thanks for starting the thread.

I just spoke to lynda, she is doing well and dandy.

she just told me that Dr. Zeff is away at a conference and will be back at the end of the week. As for my application, she said she did not recieve it from him just yet. The ones that she recieved from him last week she has already called or informed them whether they will be interviewed or not given a chance. Good news here is that, she mentioned there is more files that Dr. Zeff would hand to her when he gets back this week(end of the week). Sorry for those who got rejected. Please dont give up, our dreams shall prosper.

I haven't heard anything yet. Fingers still crossed. Good luck to everyone! :scared:

I still haven't heard anything back from neither Lynda or Dr. Zeff...I am so nervous and anxious...Does anyone know though if the interview questions are the same as the medical school questions? How are they different?

This is getting a bit out of control...if they have not said anything by tomorrow I will have to simply tell them to ignore my app since I absolutely need to start the UPenn International student paper work. What is going on?

I was called for an interview a week or two ago. I was under the impression that they were doing interviews this week and next.

The UConn admissions office is really difficult to get a hold of and they're really bad at getting back to you. I still haven't been rejected from the med school, which is obviously the status of my application. Don't bother calling, no one has ever picked up when I called dozens of times. I did get an answer or two by emailing, so I would try that.

I spoke with Lynda today (the best time to call is early Thursday and Friday Morning) she said that they have called in some people for interviews, but Dr. Zeff has a "second group" of people for her to call hopefully early next week. They are way behind and between Lynda's vacation and all of Dr. Zeff's meetings/conferences, everything has basically been pushed back. Each week I call she says decisions should be made by the next week...but then it gets pushed back even further!! :scared:

Thefonz,
Did you already have your interview or were you only called to let you know that you would have one? I am just trying to get a sense of the time delay that they are having. Thanks! Good luck and congrats on getting to the second phase!

I just talked with Lynda, and she said basically the same thing.. They are way behind, and there is still a second group that will be contacted shortly. She said that everyone will be notified in the next two weeks as to whether or not they get interviews, although at this point I'm not taking any time predictions too seriously.

I would hope that the 2 weeks is correct seeing as how the program starts in about 7 weeks! 😱 Anyone hear good news yet? Patience is character building...I hope! 😛

Good luck to all!

Hey Everyone,

I spoke to Lynda and she said she might have the list of people being called in for interviews tomorrow. Let's hope so! Good luck Everyone!

Hi everyone. I got my acceptance email this morning for post bacc program B...any of you hear anything yet? I interviewed in mid April. They said they are accepting about 10 students this year and were interviewing about 20.

Stunner27, Congratulations on the good news. No news here yet, still waiting, but will less anticipation.:xf: If not this year, I have plans in NY for next year!

I have been accepted into Program A for UConn Post-Bac and was interested in getting to know the other post-bac students, especially those in Program A. I guess, if any of you read this and are also interested, we should exchange contact info and meet when school starts! 🙂
