I searched and read last year's acceptance thread and found noone who was accepted in october thru december, from the UC's. I'm sure there must be people during that period who has been accepted, since the MSAR states UC's start accepting from 10/15.

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who heard from them early, on or shortly after 10/15, assuming we interview early in Sept/Oct. Anyone?

How about Davis, Drew, and LA send me my friggin secondaries first! Jerk-offs. 👎

The UCs are INCREDIBLY SLOW. Don't hold your breath. And that advice goes for the entire application process. It's the waiting that's the worst.

I even called all three today and they all pretty much gave me the same response: you're still being reviewed. WTF does that mean months after my they got my primary (early to mid July)??? One of them told me that they're "going backwards from Z." So my M last name is gonna be reviewed soon.

Christ almighty. I realize that my GPA isn't that great so if they just want to screen me out starting now, fine. They're really just effing with me by keeping me waiting.

that must not be how ucla works, because my last name starts close to z. maybe they are talking about first names? or the second letter of the last name.

lol, i thought i was alone. can i get a "F*** DAVIS"....sorry, just a little bitter

i tried calling a month ago, they told me to keep waiting....they've been sitting on my primary for more than 3 months now, is it really that hard to hand me a secondary or reject me? the other 34 schools i applied to seemed to do just fine in < 1 month. oh well, screw davis. if i don't get a davis secondary by february, maybe i'll try calling again. it just seems ridiculous, what happened to having an advantage by applying early when people who turn in their primaries 2 months after you already have secondaries in their hands?

Did you get secs from other UC's? That's an awfully long time to be waiting for a secondary considering interview season is in full swing. Best of luck with your other apps!

I'm still waiting for word from UCSF and UCLA. I don't expect to hear from UCD or UCSD anytime soon since I turned in my secondaries in September. Even after I interview (I hope) I don't expect to hear anything for quite some time.

Davis said that they usually make a decision after an interview in 4-6 weeks. They also said that they got a lot more applicants this year that were a lot more competitive than last year.... maybe that's why the long wait?

ucsd takes about a month. you can call them for your application status too, and they are, in fact, receptive to phone calls.

That can't be good for me. I've only been complete for two weeks though, but I have already been checking the status page daily.

To answer the original poster, UCI started calling people to accept them the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

yeah, got secondaries from the other UC's a while back...except SF, got rejected

i interviewd at uci and ucsd. uci said the earliest acceptances would be early november. ucsd said the first meeting of the admissions committe to look over the first wave of interviews would be monday, oct 25. they said people are contacted regarding acceptance/hold decisions the next day.

hmmm..I wonder what that means if I am interviewing ON the 25th! 🙂

They said the adcom meets every other monday so I am guessing you will hear in about a month because they haven't had a single meeting yet?
Good Luck ! :luck:

they said it depends on how fast the interviewer writes up their evaluation of you. i cant imagine they will do this the same day as the adcom meeting.

last year ucla didnt accept the first applicants till sometime in february. i think early february. every year is a bit different. ucirvine started to accept around thanksgiving.

I was just wondering...I got secs from all the UCs except UCSF within 2-3 weeks after I submitted my amcas in the end of august. However, I still ahven't heard anything from UCSF...should I call them and see what's going on or just wait it out a few more weeks (most people say ucsf takes a really long time but it has already been more than 4 weeks after I received a sec from the other UC's). Could they ahve forgotten about me or are they playing the game of they'll wait and see who applys and then decide if i get a sec?

UCI was quick processing my materials, but took forever to actually look at my profile. I was invited for interview 2.5 months after I was complete.

UCLA was a little shorter, maybe like 1.5 months until I got a response.

Davis was the quickest. I heard back within 10 days after submitting my secondary.

Maybe it's all dependent, the more we get into this cycle, the more applications they have to look at. Hopefully they'll start working on weekends 🙂 ha ha.. yea right

UCSF only gives out 1400 secondaries. the other UC's are more generous.

ucsf has a 12 week rule or something like that. check out their website. i forgot how long, but they reserve the right to take forever. so you may want to call, but all they will say is has it been x (maybe 12) weeks? with a bad attitude. but call.

I am not a CA resident so UCSF was the only UC I applied to, but it took them 8 weeks after they received my AMCAS data to send me a secondary. This doesn't seem to be uncommon either. Have you checked their status page to see what it says? I wouldn't worry if it's been <10 weeks since they received your AMCAS.
