hey! yeah i'll see you guys in the fall. anyone have any recommendations for housing? when will i get all the info?

Congrats to Newquagmire and TWYCross! I just called the admissions office today and they said the waitlist is moving. So I guess there's still a sliver of hope left!

Congrats to the new acceptees! And good luck to those who are still waiting. For housing issues, do a search and some posts should come up. I was in SD this past weekend and I picked up the Sunday edition of the SD tribune and there lots of listings for apts/condos for rent in UTC, La Jolla, and Pacific Beach. The university also has a website with listings for UCSD students/staff/faculty looking to share their apt/condo/house...I'm not sure of the exact URL...perhaps someone will be kind enough to post.

Congrats ladies and gents. You should check out www.apartmentguide.com (I've found it more useful than the paper unless you're looking to rent a house.)

Also, you should be getting an e-mail that lets you access the UCSD med school website. There's a place on there where people post vacancies.

Our class is going to be badass.

Just wonna let you know that I got a phone call form Dr. Rappaport... I guess I will be joining the class of 2008 at UCSD. It was very hard decision to make since I got acceptance at UCD. I liked the UCD a lot, but I when I gave it a better thought I figured that UCSD is the place to go!

hey those who just got in... did you withdraw from your other schools already? i just got an email from the school i was going to saying UCSD told them about the acceptance. they are offering me a scholarship if i go to their school. is anybody in a similar situation as me? i didn't know schools communicate that directly.

there's a national database for accepted students. after a certain date in the year, schools MUST let other schools know they're going to accept you. it's all part of the game we play...

I spoke with Mrs. Whitson the other day and she said there has been zero movement lately. She said this time last year (August), there was only 1 person added from the waitlist. I get the impression that at this point it's a longshot.

Rumor has it that at least one person got accepted this week due to a "delay matriculant." There may be another spot open...anyone else hear a peep?
