Has anyone been able to find housing yet? I have not received anything from the school about housing and from what I understand it is difficult to get on-campus housing. Any advise?

I already have a place (went to UCSD undergrad) but I haven't received anything from UCSD med yet, financial aid stuff or otherwise. I take it they're just slow.

Aren't we supposed to submit immunization records and stuff at some point? I haven't received any info about that either. Let me know when you guys hear from them.

On-campus housing is difficult to get for I believe about 18 months, unless you know someone living there who needs a roommate. You can check craigslist.org for availabilities, and there are a lot of apartment complexes close to campus (< 2-3 miles) that have vacancies. If you're willing to share a room, you can get a place pretty cheap, and 2 bedroom apartments run approx. 1400+ from what I've seen. To me, $700 a month isn't bad after living in Berkeley but I know people who think it's a fortune.

check out costa verde apts... it's not bad for what you get. plus it's right on the free shuttle route.
