Seeing that multiple people have received interviews from UCSD, we should start a new thread that is separate from the UCSF thread. If you don't mind, please tell us where your from, your stats, and when you received an invite from UCSD.

PharmCAS cumulative GPA: 3.87
PharmCAS science GPA: 3.82
UCLA Biochem, B.S. expected in June

I will most likely be declining this interview invitation since I already got into USC, my top choice, for other deserving applicants. Best of luck to everyone!

I guess I should have sent an e-mail to UCSD earlier about withdrawing my application b/c I am planning to attend USC. I received my interview letter today.

PharmCAS cumulative GPA: 3.90
PharmCAS science GPA: 3.92

Dayam. With GPAs like those you guys must be friggin' GENIUSES 😀. Congrats on getting interview invites from UCSD and being accepted to USC :hardy:.

Just want to say congradts to everyone 🙂

WOOHOO! Guess we will see each other next year at USC, go Trojans 😀!

I got an interview invite for ucsd also. I have 3.7 cum gpa and a little higher in science. I will probably not attend because I got into USC which was my first choice!! Good luck to everyone else applying to ucsd. See you future trojans next year.

I was browsing UCSD's website and is it true that the tuition is about $7500/year?

Merry Xmas everyone! 😀

i finally got my interview!! it has been sitting in the mailbox i am sure... but worth the wait🙂 feb 11

congratulations to everyone!!

anyone here still waiting on some response from UCSD? i turned in my supplemental app way back in July, have a bank statement of them cashing my check, but no response whatsoever. No file completion, etc....should i be worried or wat? Also anyone have any idea when their offices will be open again so i can give them a call?

UCSD's and UCSF's tuition would be considerably cheaper than most other schools b/c they're a public school. So if you're from CA, you're in luck.

Same here, No completion, rejection, interview letters. Nothing. But I know they have recieved it. 🙁

The offices won't be open till after New Year's. Employees of UCSD have a holiday break from 12/24-1/1/08. I haven't had any response from them either.

I haven't heard anything either. For the other people who haven't heard, where do you guys live? I live in AZ and am just hoping that it is taking a little longer to get to me than the CA people.

I just got my letter on the 24th, great xmas present! I live in southern california, so your letters should be on their way!

(If you do get an interview, its a thicker letter because it comes with maps, info about hotels, transportation)

So hopefully you guys can tell before you even open it! I really like how UCSD sent all that info, it was really helpful.

USC just sent a map, UCSF sent nothing with my interview invite!

good luck!!

I received my interview letter on dec 22nd for an interview on jan 19. I'm from norcal so it would kinda suck to make 2 trips down south, since I have the USC interview on the 26th.. T_T

What fun is flying 500 miles over for an interview and then find out you get rejected?

Who would want to travel 500 miles or more to attend pharmacy school?

You know some people are desperate to come to Florida for pharmacy school.

The weather is nice, unlike Maryland, you know.

For the people who received invites (congrats!!), what does the letter say about how long you have to accept the interview? Like a couple other of us, I didn't have my school mail forwarded during the break to my home address (b/c of travel), so I won't get my mail until Jan. 4!!! Thanks for your help!!

Actually the letter says return the form by Fri, Jan4th, 2008 to secure your interview position. So you might wanna email them or something...

Thank you!!!!!! That's cutting it waaaaay closer than I anticipated. Eeeks!

Thanks everyone for all of the reassurance while I was waiting to get back to my mailbox! I was out of town and just got back , so I finally got my intervew invite. Feb 11th....I'm both excited and nervous!

Also, just so others are less nervous about getting an invite, I never received any confirmation that UCSD received my application. I only knew because my check was cashed. Good luck everyone!

Just got my rejection letter today👎 Oh well...UCSD isn't my top choice, but I would have entertained the idea of moving back to my home town if given the chance. Good luck to everyone who got an interview. You guys should be pretty stoked considering that there was over 1,400 applications submitted to UCSD this year.

I am suprised I got an interview, since I have zero pharmacy experience and I completed all my essays in one day with some grammar problems in it that I later found out.

Lucky me 😀

Does anyone want to car pool with me to san diego who is from the bay area? My interview is on Jan. 19.

Anyone interviewing on Saturday Feb. 9th at UCSD 😕

How's the parking situation there? Does any current UCSD student know?

Weekend parking is free anywhere (meters and any labeled spot), unless it is labeled with a sign that says "Permit required 24 hours, 7 days a week."

On weekdays, you can buy a daily permit for $6 that will allow you to park in B (Grad/staff), S (undergrad student), or V (visitor) spots. At the school of medicine/pharmacy, they have S and B spots, but I'm pretty sure that those would all be taken up by students. The closest place to park is Revelle parking or the Gilman Parking Structure, which you can look at under "maps" at the main UCSD website under "Friends and Visitors."

I'm not sure how relevant that information is, since I'm not sure if their interviews are only on weekends or weekdays + weekends, but hope this helps 🙂

Nevermind, I got my answer

The parking isn't too bad. If you live on/near campus, the free shuttle is a definite must. Otherwise, pay the monthly fee for the parking pass and park in the lot near the Pharmacy building. The later you arrive in the morning, the farther away you'll be, but I would hope that's obvious.

PS- Got rejected from UCSD 🙁

My best bet is the Gilman Parking Structure. I don't think the campus loop shuttle runs over the weekend (that is, if the interviews are on Saturdays). The other option is to park at the La Jolla Village Square and take bus 48 (it's $2 one way) and get off at Gilman/Myer which is right in front of the School of Medicine and cross through to get to the Pharm bldg. I didn't apply here, but I'm a current undergrad.

i'll be there tomorrow for the interview. anyone else? are we required to bring anything?

Good luck 👍!!! . Just a Photo ID , it said in the letter. I have one next month. Make sure you give us some feedback. 😀

For anybody that has an interview on a weekday, make sure you park in parking spaces labeled "B" because I missed the sign that told me to do so and ended up parking in a space marked as "A". I just sent an appeal for my parking citation so we'll see how that goes. Just wanted to give you guys the heads up.

thanks ab3capri for letting us know ahead!🙂

The campus loop shuttle does run on weekends; just one way. If it's on a weekend, the best bet is to actually park on the medical school campus, since parking is free everywhere (even meters). the only exception are the spots labeled "permit needed 24/7"

I'm not in SD on the weekends, that's why. At least now I know the info for future purposes. 🙂

free parking on weekends is wonderful! it's so useful at the beginning of the quarter so I don't have to walk too far to bring heavy books to my car 🙂

Anyone interviewing this Sat (9th Feb)? I'm getting nervous now.

I have Feb 9 interview, too. My letter says to come in around 12p.
Soooo scared!!! I do not do interviews very well, so this Sat is a BIG DAY FOR ME.

Goooooooooooooood luck to all of US interviewees!!!!:luck::luck::luck:

i have an interview on the 9th too. good luck everyone! 🙂

wow...8am. That's so early. Mine is 11:45am and by that time the interviewers must be really tired already.
