Hey guys, I got accepted into UCSD as a freshman for the fall quarter and it has come time for me to enroll in classes.

Just to let you guys know, my major is Biochemistry and I have already finished 20B and 20C courses successfully. I am exempt from 20A because I have a 5 on AP Calc exam.

With that in mind, here is my planned schedule for the first year.
Fall =
CAT1, Physics 2A, Math 20D, GSE

Winter =
CAT2, Physics 2B, Chem 6BH (I am exempt from Chem 6AH from 5 on Chem AP) , Physics 2BL (lab)

Sprint
CAT 3, Physics 2D, Chem 6CH, Chem 6BL

I want to make my schedule like this because this way, I will effectively finish all of the lower division requirements for my major in one year. This will make it easier to switch majors if i want to, and I can get all this out of the way so I can start studying for MCAT earlier.

Just take a look at it and let me know if you guys think this is advisable or there is something else that I'm missing here. Thanks for all the help guys.

There is really no need to take the General Chemistry honor sequence.
Other than that, you should consider taking just 12 units your first quarter.

Hey guys just have another quick question if you dont mind. Thanks for all the help so far.

But since I am exempt from Chem 6AH and will only be taking Chem 6B and Chem6c, does that still fulfill the requirement for one year of general chemistry for Medical School requirements? Or will I have to take the Chem 6A even though I dont get credit to make it one year?

Thanks

I would be wary of planning on taking 6BL unless you are a regents scholar or you have an absurd amount of AP credits. The rate at which lab classes fill up at UCSD is a joke, especially 6BL.
