I've noticed that UCSD has started sending out post-secondary rejection letters. Does anyone know if the status page changes (to "final decision letter sent") once the letter goes out?

Sorry to those who've received the news, though I suppose after being on hold for so long it's not a big surprise. 🙁

s'ok, i've been on hold since september so i pretty much expected it 😉

I have been on hold for an interview at UCSD since September as well, so I called up Admissions, thinking that maybe they had just forgotten to reject me.

The woman told me that they interview until the end of March or even early April! If you have any updates, you can send them in, or if you would like to petition (tell them why you deserve an interview).

Congratulations on Northwestern, thegenius!!! I am doubting that I will be seeing you at USC next year. 😀


Re: UCSD...I've thought about petitioning. I don't know what I'd write in the letter, though--they already have my file!! Could I just recap key points from my application and write why I think I'm a good fit?

Thank you so much Argonana, I think you are the first person to thank me for an acceptance. Maybe not the first, but I liked your note. Then again, I don't publicize my acceptances too much on this forum. I think USC is probably a no go, but we still might visit it during 2nd look weekend. My brother lives about 10 minutes from campus.

Will you go there during second look weekend?

You can e-mail them updates. I did it, and they put the information in my file.
