I am a post-bac taking classes at UCSD. I have finished my lower division and now need to start on my upper division work.

What classes would you reccomend? I am looking for classes that are not a big headache ie well structured and organized, you know what you are expected to know and profs that aren't unreasonable with what they expect you to regurgatate. Easy would be nice, but I am ready to rock about anything right now...

Thanks,
sepaul

Well if you're looking to do pre-med requirements o-chem seems like a natural choice. I would recommend the 140 series rather than 141. Biochem is probably also a good idea for a post-bac. You can either take the biochem series through the chem or bio department, I believe they're pretty much equivalent. I'm a senior at UCSD so I'm pretty familiar with most of the science courses.

Here are a few classes I thought were great...

Metabolic Biochem with Paul Price, who is probably the greatest prof on the west coast, he only teaches spring quarter.

Ochem with Harvey.

Immunology with Rickert.

Molecular Biology with Loomis.

Any class with Nigel Crawford, bio prof.

Any class with M. Nesbitt, bio prof.

Drugs and Behavior with Koob, psychology prof.

Do not take Structural with Montal, or any classes with Bier, Burke (chem), or Brody.

Do not take Cell Bio with Arroian. He's super hard. I ta'd that class with him teaching and it was even hard for me.
