I am trying to figure out which place to rank higher. I am from NY and like NYC (and my family is from NY as well) and really think Cornell's program is on the rise with the new chairman and PD, etc.

However, I liked UCSD when I visited as well.

My question to you all is where do you think I will be better trained? Which place is better at getting you into fellowship? Or are both equal as far as getting desired fellowships? While I am not sure which fellowship I will do, ocularplastics seems pretty sweet right now.

Basically, I feel like I would be happy at both locations but that it would be easier for me to stay on the east coast. However, if the training in UCSD is far superior to Cornell, then San Diego seems like a really fun place to be for my training.

Thanks on any advice in advance...😳

The number one factor to resident happiness is location, location, and location. It won't matter if you get a certificate from UCSD or Cornell. In the end, you'll practice ophthalmology.

However, because you're from NY and your family is from NY, stay near NY!
