UCSD Weekends

To UCSD med students,
I am joining you guys in the fall and I was curious about something. How much are your weekends just free time? If you study during the week, is there much to do on the weekends? I really appreciate your help.

u off to ucsd, me too! Im from ucla...graduated in 2003 ....i was wondering the same thing as you....i m thinking alot time will be spent in lecture unfortunately

Welcome to UCSD, Kalak and BjOrKnRaDiOhEaD. The amt of free time in the weekend depends on how much work you do during the week. The good thing is that materials do increase (I should know since finals are next week). Initially for the first 2 quarters I've gone out about once per week, as hanging out is important for me. Now sometimes I find myself studying on Fridays and/or Satursdays, which only happened for me during the finals back in undergrad. The bottom line is learning the materials and pass all the tests. If you have any more questions, more of my classmates and I will be happy to answer them after the finals.

My student host at UCSD said he went to all of the lectures and didn't study much at all during the week (maybe a few hours here and there). Then, he would study all day Saturday and Sunday for like 6-8 hours and that was pretty much sufficient.
