i thikn the average gpa is around a 3.7

i believe ucsd focuses primarily on academics as opposed to life experience. its very difficult to get in since they only accept about 100 students. (i think)

Yes, I'm applying to UCSD as well.

I only see 2008 to 2010 on their website, the basic info you have. It's probably in the neighborhood of 3.67-3.69.

[FONT=arial, helvetica][FONT=arial, helvetica]All applicants interviewed demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in a healthcare field in their applications. This experience took a variety of forms and was in many varied locations. If they did not have volunteer or work experience specifically in pharmacy, they demonstrated that they had adequately explored the profession of pharmacy and had made a knowledgeable decision based on that exploration."

I don't expect to get in here, let alone procure an interview.

I heard that without research experience, you should not even bother applying.

Seriously????

I'd like to know if they like applicants with research too - I'll have 1.5 years by the time I graduate next semester - so it'd be nice to know that all the sleepless nights and hours upon hours of research will finally be appreciated and taken into account. 🙂

i applied there, just to apply... i haven't heard anything from them...just the automated reply after u send in the supp... anyone heard anything?

I applied last year and I think they only accepted approx. 60 people out of the approx 250 people they interview

anybody know the answer to my question?? :d

I got an interview last year and had no research experience at all. In fact I knew a few people with research experience that didn't get an interview to UCSD, but they did with UCSF so go figure 🙄 It's a little late to apply though, so I hope you already did.

The people that I knew that got into UCSD had pretty extensive years of research experience.

I know plenty of people attending the school with little to no research experience.

That's not a solid requirement.

Same here. I worked in two different labs simultaneously for 1~1.5 years. I'm in lab at this moment, on a friday nite. It better pay off!!
